What Is the World Trade Center Abu Dhabi?

As previously mentioned, the World Trade Center Abu Dhabi is a mixed-use development completed in 2014, consisting of two skyscrapers - one residential and the other commercial, and a mall, a souk, and a hotel. The Center is located on Khalifa Bin Zayed 1st Street in the Corniche Area, one of the most sought-after areas to live in, mainly because it is near the beach, making it an excellent choice for those looking for waterfront living destinations.

  • Residential & Commercial Towers: Details

The residential tower is also known as the Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid Tower, the tallest tower in the Emirate, while the commercial tower is also known as the WTC Office Tower or The Trust Tower. The residential tower is a 92-storey building consisting of apartments and penthouses, while the commercial tower has 72,000 m² prime office space distributed over 60 storeys.

  • World Trade Center Abu Dhabi Shopping Mall

The World Trade Center Abu Dhabi shopping mall is also known as the WTC Mall. It opened in 2014, and it is connected to WTC Souk via Al-Khalifa Street Bridge. More on it below. The mall has many dining, shopping, and entertainment destinations, making it one of the best malls in the Emirate.

The World Trade Center Mall Abu Dhabi has attracted about 9 million visitors annually since 2019, proving to be locals’ and tourists’ favourite mall in the Emirate. The WTC shopping mall, a prominent shopping centre developer by Aldar, includes the following options for everyone in the mood to dine, shop, play and have fun:

  • Souk

The World Trade Center Abu Dhabi is home to the “Souk,” a traditional market unique for its traditional Arabic and Emirati design, atmosphere, and products. It is an indoor market that spans three floors, and it is a replacement for a previous outdoor market of the same concept, which was destroyed by a fire in 2004. Visitors who are looking for an authentic shopping experience must visit the Souk. It offers local jewellery, traditional clothes, scarves, paintings, sculptures, spices, and carpets.
